In the second of these blogs, Hesk compares the complexity of Homer’s post-war storytelling in the original poem with the film’s emphasis on war fighting and simplified peace storytelling, arguing: ‘Somehow, I think we have lost the idea that human communities which are free of war and conflict might be both possible and interesting to imagine or explore in their own right.’
